Transmutation, not denial

In 2015 an operation went wrong and I had a stroke. I mention it here because it shapes how I read everything that follows.

I recovered alongside my doctors, not instead of them. The reading helped. It got me out of the why-me stage and gave me something to do with the day. But it did not replace physiotherapy, and I would be lying if I said otherwise.

What the original actually says

There is a whole industry built on the idea that, because the universe is mental, you can simply think your way out of its laws. The Kybalion is scathing about this. It describes people who grasp the first principle and conclude they may therefore defy the rest, and it does not think much of them.

Its alternative is transmutation: working with the laws, using one principle to shift your position within another. Not denial of the facts, but a change in how you stand in relation to them.

In practice

If you are ill, see a doctor. If you are struggling, tell someone. Then, by all means, use the principles to change how you meet what is happening. That is where they are genuinely powerful, and it is the only way I have ever seen them work.
